Preparing for your Move

Millions of Americans pack up their belongings and relocate to a new home in a year. Some will move themselves and some will hire a moving company to alleviate the back ache. But what most people who hire moving companies don’t realize is that there is some preparation required. Such as make sure all of your boxes are properly packed, sealed closed, and labeled. This will reduce the risk of the items packed inside the carton getting damaged and it increases efficiency when the movers know directly where to go. Refrigerators and freezers should be completely emptied out and unplugged the day before the move so they can thaw out. Make sure each piece of furniture is completely emptied. If items are left inside any furniture it will make moving the pieces much more difficult and it can damage the inside of the furniture. When hiring a moving company to assist relocating it is imperative to make sure you’re fully prepared.
