Hoffman Estates started in 1954, when Sam and Jack Hoffman of F&S Construction bought a 160-acre farm for a subdivision. The village incorporated in 1959 with about 8,000 residents in just under three square miles. It now covers roughly 21 square miles, with a population of 52,530 in the 2020 census.

Parcel A And The Original Homes

The first subdivision, known as Parcel A, sits east of Roselle Road between Golf and Higgins roads, and its first families moved in during late 1955. Those homes were built on half-acre lots. A larger lot can put more distance between the curb and the front door, so tell us if the truck will need to park at the street rather than in the driveway.

Growth North Of I-90

In 1962 the village annexed its first land north of the tollway, more than doubling its size, and later growth brought the Prairie Stone Business Park and the former AT&T campus north of I-90. If you are moving between the older south side and the newer north side, the tollway interchanges shape the route, so share both addresses early.

Two Counties, One Village

Hoffman Estates lies mostly in Cook County, with a very small portion in Kane County. Confirm which county your new address falls in when you set up utilities and records, and include the full address when you request a quote.
