Most of Northbrook was built after World War II. The village grew from about 3,300 people in 1950 to more than 30,000 by 1980. Today, it is a town of mostly single-family homes, many owned by the same family for decades. If you are downsizing from a house like that, packing and storage can matter as much as the truck. Downtown is changing too. The village plans more mixed-use housing near the Metra station, so condo and apartment moves are part of the mix.
Our Northbrook moving services include:
- Residential moving for postwar single-family homes, downtown condos, and apartments
- Commercial moving for offices, medical practices, and stores along the Lake Cook Road corridor
- Packing and unpacking, including full packing for downsizing moves
- Climate-controlled storage, short or long term, for things you are not ready to part with
- White glove moving for fine art, antiques, and family heirlooms
- Specialty moving for pianos, hot tubs, safes, and oversized items
- Long-distance moving from Northbrook to anywhere in the 48 contiguous states
Many Northbrook moves start in a house one family has lived in for decades. Our trained movers take care with the furniture, art, and keepsakes those homes hold.
We are a family-owned company too, with more than 35 years in the moving business.
Your belongings travel in a modern, sanitized truck. You also get an upfront price before moving day, with no hidden fees, so you can plan around your closing date.
Northbrook is easy to reach by highway. I-294 curves along the west side of the village, and the Edens Spur forms most of the north edge. Lake Cook Road, Dundee Road, and Waukegan Road carry most local traffic. Downtown sits around the Metra Milwaukee District North station on Shermer Road.
Planning to use a moving container? Northbrook requires a $25 Dumpster/POD permit from Development and Planning Services. The unit must sit on private property, such as your driveway, and can stay up to 15 days in any 90-day period. In winter, watch for snow parking bans, when cars must come off village streets so plows can clear them.
We also move families in nearby Cook and Lake County towns, including Glenview, Deerfield, Highland Park, Wilmette, Winnetka, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, and Skokie.
